With roots dating back to 1872, the company has established itself as a leader in both professional and consumer markets, consistently delivering premium glassware for wine, spirits, and table settings.

Schott Zwiesel’s commitment to quality and sustainability has made it a preferred choice among sommeliers, restaurateurs, and discerning consumers worldwide.

What Schott Zwiesel Offers

Schott Zwiesel offers a diverse range of crystal glass products, including wine glasses, water glasses, tasting glasses, and barware, available in numerous collections such as Vivid Senses (Sensa), Vervino, Prizma, Enoteca, Duo, Alloro (The First), Air Sense, and specialised bar and banquet lines.

Their products are distinguished by the use of patented Titanium TRITAN® crystal glass, which is exceptionally strong, lead-free, and dishwasher safe.

This advanced material ensures that Schott Zwiesel glasses are not only beautiful and clear but also highly durable, making them ideal for daily use in both home and hospitality environments.

The brand’s focus on sustainability is evident in its eco-friendly production processes, including wastewater treatment and reduced emissions through oxyfuel technology, which cuts energy use by 30% compared to traditional methods.

Company History

Schott Zwiesel traces its origins to 1872, when Anton Mueller established a glassworks in Zwiesel, Germany.

The company underwent several transformations, including a merger with Jenaer Glaswerk Schott & Gen. in 1927, which led to its eventual renaming as Schott Zwiesel Glaswerke AG in 1972.

Over the decades, Schott Zwiesel expanded its operations, embraced automation, and introduced new product lines, becoming one of Europe’s largest cup glass manufacturers by the late 1970s.

The brand has continually innovated, notably developing Tritan glass in collaboration with the University of Erlangen in 2002—a breakthrough in crystal glass technology.

Market Presence

Schott Zwiesel has a strong international presence, serving both the professional hospitality sector and private consumers.

The brand is widely used by top hotels, restaurants, and bars, and has been recognised as the world market leader for crystal glass in the upscale hotel and catering industry.

Schott Zwiesel’s dual-brand strategy—Schott Zwiesel for the upper mid-market and Zwiesel Glas for the premium segment—allows it to cater to a broad spectrum of customers, from wine enthusiasts to luxury connoisseurs.

Recent expansions include a merger with US market leader Fortessa Tableware Solutions and the launch of United Tables by Zwiesel, offering comprehensive tabletop solutions for the professional market.

Today, Schott Zwiesel continues to innovate and expand, reinforcing its reputation as a global leader in premium glassware.
